OVERVIEW

RECYCLING PLANT was created as a self-directed project for the course Level Design 3 at Sheridan College. Built for Quake II Re-release, RECYCLING PLANT attempts to capture the feel, style, and energy of Quake II's level design.

DESIGN PROCESS

For this Level, I created a detailed Level Design Document (LDD). Here's some highlights and diagrams I created for it!

For this project, it was important to me to make my LDD not only simple to read, but also engaging. If I had been working with other people on this project, making my document an enjoyable read would've encouraged close reading of it.

It was critical during the design process to create detailed, readable maps. I created several versions of each area of the level over its development, updating it as I made changes. Creating maps like these was critical to my design process, as it forced me to be utilitarian and purposeful in my design.
