Made using Unity, one Makey Makey, and many, many wires.
Built as part of a program-wide game jam at Sheridan College, Demons for Dummies is a 2-player asymmetric puzzle game utilizing an alternative controller. play as either a master wizard or a foolish apprentice as you attempt to seal away a demon in a box. Be careful! take too long, and the demon will escape to wreak havoc upon the world (and you)!
UX Design: guided gameplay towards intended user experience by developing a theme and creating cohesiveness for puzzles.
Leadership: Directed team to ensure completion of project on-time and in-scope. encouraged others to start small.
Playtests: Developed playtesting protocol to look for weak points and justify early assumptions.
Demons for Dummies needed strong theming to separate it from other similar games, and to immerse the players in the experience and tactile-ness of the game.
We developed our visual style around fantasy instead of the contemporary world to encourage the player to ground their actions in an unfamiliar context. the setting also helped free the players to be a bit silly.
